3rd Annual Kyalami Divers Lionfish Derby
September 4, 2026. Two locations. One mission. Get them out of the water.
What This Is
Lionfish are invasive, destructive, and have no natural predators in Florida waters. The best thing a diver can do is hunt them. On September 4th, we are doing exactly that, at two locations simultaneously, with prizes for the biggest haul, the largest fish, and the smallest fish pulled from the reef.
This is a sanctioned harvest event. You do not need a lionfish permit to participate when diving as part of a licensed tournament. Show up, dive, and make a real difference on the reef.

Palm Beach — Riviera Beach Marina, 190 East 13th St., Riviera Beach, FL 33404
Jupiter — Jupiter Inlet
Both locations depart at 9:00 AM. Back to dock by 1 PM.
Spots for private dive guides are reserved on both boats. Call us t book a private guide if you want one-on-one instruction on lionfish hunting technique.

After Party
After the final dive, both locations host an on-site after party. Weigh-ins, prize announcements, food, and drinks. Party venue location TBD.
What to Bring
The boats will have extra fillet knives and scales on board. Bring your pole spear or JJ slap shooter, a collection container, and your dive gear. Get your gear at the Kyalami Dive Shop.
