We finally received a shipment of Uwatec’s new hoseless Nitrox computer, the Galileo Sol last month. The Galileo Sol has a full tilt digital compass, POLAR heart rate monitoring system, EXTRA LARGE dot-matrix display, user replaceable battery, plus all of the Uwatec core features of the Smart Z. Scubapro’s new BC just for women, the Bella has also arrived. We have one of these in our rental department if you’d like to take it on a test dive.

We also have plenty of 5 mm Aqualung Aquaflex wetsuits in stock. These suits will keep you toasty this
time of year! They are stretchy and very, very easy to slip on. Try one on and see for yourself.

Light & Motion has come out with a video housing that will accommodate 10 different Sony HD
cameras! It will also adapt to future Sony video cameras. The Stingray HD comes with non penetrating electronic
controls, glass zoom-through lens, blue water flip down color correcting filter and 3.5” monitor back!
We have one of these in stock so if you’ve been thinking about getting in to video, now is the time.
The Stingray housing is feature rich and very affordable.
Everyone is always asking for a towel, we now have McNett’s MicroNet Microfiber towels available
in the Pro Shop. They are ultra compact, super absorbent, fast drying, come in two sizes and include a storage bag.
Scubapro sweatshirts are still on sale as are Smart Z Nitrox computers. Ask one of our crew for the special pricing
on these Subapro/Uwatec items.
The annual SC Holiday Party was one of the best attended yet! We thank everyone that was able to
come and share the Holiday Spirit with us. Those of you that weren’t able to attend missed out on
Ernie’s awesome Cajun fried turkey.
We’ve added some new pages to our web site and are in the process of updating our Meet the
Staff page with our latest crew members whom you already know Reinaldo Diaz, Dave Paul, Robin
Woodard & Steve (Duuude…) McKenna.
As most of you know we switched to our winter schedule last month. The highlights are a 10 am one
tank dive on Wednesdays and no dive Friday mornings. Keep an eye on your inbox as some Sunday mornings
there will be a one tank trip instead of the normal two tank trip. We’ll try to give you some advance
notice of this so you single tank dive people (and you know who you are!) can plan accordingly.
Thanks goes out to Rita Zimmermann & Gary Yoss for the new Sirius Satellite radio on the boat. We can now
enjoy any type of music during the surface interval and the trip to and from the dive sites.
We will also be offering Scuba Camp again this summer. The starting dates are June 16, July 7 and
August 4. The camp runs Monday – Friday and includes full Scuba certification. Certified divers can
also participate in their own Scuba Camp! The Camp for certified divers runs anytime during June, July &
August from Tuesday – Friday. Give us a call for more details!
There is still a spot or two left on this year’s Cocos Island trip. Don’t get shut out or you’ll have
to wait until 2009 to swim with schooling hammerheads, giant manta rays, pods of dolphin, and swarming
schools of jacks, just to name some of the marine life at Cocos.
JD is taking an exploratory trip to Lembeh Strait in Indonesia around the end of April. Lembeh Strait
is the unusual critter capital of the world. Hopefully he’ll have some video to share with us at our Memorial
Day Party! Ernie Pentland shared unusual photos with us from Lembeh at our Labor Day cook out. Remember
the photos of the hairy frogfish, mimic octopus & pygmy seahorse! Look for a future SC trip to Indonesia soon.
Please welcome our new members: Ariel Cook (Wellington), Jen Howell (PBG), Helena Jormelius (Boynton Beach), Larry Martin (Juno Beach), William Money (WPB), Ona Ngnoumen (Royal Palm Beach), Cassandra O’Little (Orlando) & Chris Ullian (WPB).
