Tanner Thielemann

Tanner

Atlanta is one of those cities where everyone says that they live but nobody lives inside the city limits… and so is our own Tanner Thielemann. Tanner grew up in Marietta, Georgia a northern suburb of Atlanta watching Roadrunner Cartoons, playing with frogman G I Joe, and of course minding his parents (envision halo here).

The year Tanner was born was heralded by the introduction of Windows 1.0, Calvin and Hobbs cartoon debut, the first mobile phone call, and Chip was probably playing a joke on someone. During his George Walton High School years lacrosse, running cross country, girls (we hope) and of course baseball took up most of his time. He was certified to dive before high school at the age of 12 (what was Chip doing in 1997) and he has slowly worked his way up to PADI Divemaster thanks to Ernie and Excalibur.

After high school he heard that Georgia Southern University was a little too tight so he headed to Statesboro to loosen them up a little. We hear that he was very successful. After a stint at Statesboro he moved to West Palm Beach to help out his Grandfather and work at Chili’s. We are told that the whole take out idea was Tanner’s reorganization plan for the NOW successful restaurant chain.

If you have noticed we have two new additions running around the Scuba Club, I guess I should have said new animal additions. Tanner has adopted a black cat named Jack and a black and white cat named Steve. And the little kitties are just as crazy as their namesake Jack Duff and Steve McKenna. I tried to dial Tanner in to a little college cutie by telling her that he had two cute little kitties, and she immediately said that she hated cats. What kind of decent girl hates kittens…maybe it wasn’t the kittens. A lot of divers come in and tell us how starved for affection the kittens are as they are rubbing against their legs. That is just not true. These are the most picked up and petted cats in all of Florida. We had dogs in the past but these cats are pretty cool.

Tanner’s hobbies include diving, camping in north Georgia, bouldering (your guess is as good as mine), reading the most recent copy of “Cat Fancy”, girls (in this order) and of course angry whoppers. If you have noticed how great the Scuba Club grounds are shaping up it is all due to our own Master Landscaper Tanner Thielemann.
