As the Annapolis doctor picked our little Suzie up by the ankles for her birth spanking (the 1st of many more to come) Chariots of Fire was playing in the theatres, Chip was teaching Gus Schwartz how to dive, and the first woman was appointed to the U.S. Supreme Court. Yes our little Suzie was a product of the 80’s. Growing up in those cold Severna Park, Maryland winters Suzie dreamed of a warm tropical climate with palm trees and sandy beaches. After Suzie's high school experience, the entire Schmidt family moved to Orlando, Florida (they are from the Pennsylvania Schmidts). Orlando was not warm enough, so our little Suzie moved south to attend Palm Beach Atlantic University. Ahh finally, palm trees, sun, sand and the ocean. Suzie majored in Communication, minored in Psychology, never changed her major and did it all in four long hard years. Unheard of ! A woman on an unstoppable path. During the summer months she worked at Disney, helped unfortunate people in third world areas and helped at the SC. They say Disney’s recent problems can be traced back to Suzie’s resignation. Suzie also spent 3 months studying abroad....or so she says !
Suzie graduated from PBAU with a Master's in Counseling Psychology and is now a Licensed Mental Health Counselor...just what we need, a smarter Suzie! The SC staff had too many mental problems for her to deal with so she got a "day job" during the week
and now gets her SC fix on Sundays. Chip, JD and Ernie
(yes it took all three) say that Suzie’s Divemaster course was the most fun course that they had ever been involved in. She did receive the Chip Elliott Divemaster
candidate of the year award (also known as the PADI D.M. summa cum laude). When you need CPR and First Aid training, talk to Suzie about PADI's Emergency First Response course...she loves to teach it! Suzie is the ray of sunshine that brightens all of our members day. And soon she is going to be captaining the boat to your favorite dive
sites and teaching your kids how to dive. Lucky kids ! ! !
