Steve McKenna

Stevie

Imagine being in some sort of auto accident and looking up to see “our lil bubba” say Whaaaz Sup as he starts your “saline drip”. And you hear him turn to another EMT and quietly say this “Dude does not look good Dude”. This is not fiction but a true scenario. Yes our own Steve McKenna is a Firefighter and rumor has it he works as a volunteer at the North Palm Beach Firehouse. Poor Wayne and Margaret…they live in North Palm. Ohhh no! And of course we get our Stevie fix during the week from Tuesday thru Friday here at the Scuba Club. Steve is incredibly valuable as divemaster and deck hand during the week. We are just sorry to all of the divers on the weekend that do not get a chance to be called dude by Steve. Steve is a graduate of Jupiter High School (BMOC) and don’t the ladies know it, seriously the ladies do not know it. When he is not working at the Scuba Club or running into burning buildings to save lives you can find Steve on a surfboard hanging ten. I have seen a YouTube video of his surf expertise and I seriously thought it was a Pro Surfer, no seriously. We look forward to seeing Steve during the week not just for his hard work, dedication and interesting stories (one time at band camp) but also for his MOM’s crumb cake. When I say that it is good, I mean it’s GREAT, not very slimming though. Steve has evolved into one of our best dive guides and I am sure we can thank his instructor Ernie Jabour. Ernie says that Steve was known as the “Equalizer” in class. Every night Steve would tell Ernie “Dude, I don’t know if I’ll be able to equalize my ears, Dude” In Steve’s own words “Don’t hate the Player hate the Game”.
