SC News

We like to keep our Rental Department stocked with the latest and greatest equipment here at the SC. With that in mind we’d like to let you know that all of our rental regulators, octopus and Nitrox computer consoles were replaced in January with brand new Scubapro equipment.

Diving has been very good so far this Winter and Spring. As some of you already know there was a Sawfish sighting in December at Midreef! This is the first time that we know of that anyone has spotted one of these weird looking creatures on one of our reefs.

There has also been plenty of Goliath Grouper, Nurse Sharks, free swimming Moray Eels, Octopus and as always plenty of Turtles. Don’t let the winter/spring pass you by without getting your fix of great diving.

It’s already time to start thinking about what to do with your kids this summer. The SC Scuba Camps will be starting up again this summer. This summer we are offering five camps beginning in June. Last summer’s camps sold out quickly, so if you have any interest make sure you sign up early. The Scuba Camp dates can be found at http://www.TheScubaClub.com/camp.html.

We have been having trouble with our AOL email address. Until we get this resolved please use info@TheScubaClub.com or ScubaClub@comcast.net

Trip News

There are still a few spaces left on the April 20 – May 2, 2009 trip to North Sulawesi, Indonesia. We’re spending the first 4 nights at Kima Bajo Resort diving Bunaken National Park then the next 6 nights will be spent at Kungkungan Bay Resort (KBR) diving the black sand creature capital of the world, Lembeh Strait. Contact JD if you’re interested in this adventure.

The 2009 Cocos Island trip departs on July 28 and returns August 8. You’ve heard how awesome this trip was in 2008 (Whalesharks & Hammerheads!) so now is the time to sign up. This trip is already more than half full, contact us immediately if you have any interest in this trip of a lifetime. Check out Whaleshark footage from the 2008 trip here.
